SUSTAINABLE HOLISTIC ACTION FOR LIVELIHOOD ALTERNATIVES AND RISE (SHALAR) Foundation is a newly established organization focused on working with tribal communities. While the organization is new, its mission is to address the needs and challenges faced by tribal population. This includes areas like education, healthcare, Organic, Natural Farming, economic empowerment, Climate Change and cultural preservation. The foundation aims to collaborate with tribal communities to create sustainable solutions and enhance their overall well-being.

SHALAR Foundation continued working with rural communities in Rayagada District with a focus on sustainable agriculture, natural farming, indigenous seed conservation, environmental protection, women’s empowerment and community development.

Our work has been guided by the belief that sustainable development begins at the grassroots. Farmers, women, youth and community institutions are not merely beneficiaries of development—they are its principal partners.

During Our Programme, we promoted indigenous paddy varieties, natural farming practices, organic manure preparation, kitchen gardens, community nurseries, formation and bank linkage to WSHG, plantation activities and farmer capacity-building programmes. We also strengthened our engagement with Farmer Producer Organisations and community institutions.

The Foundation is grateful to farmers, women, community leaders, volunteers, partner organisations, government departments and supporters who have contributed to our journey.We look forward to expanding our efforts and creating stronger, more resilient and sustainable rural communities.
